This is a quick and dirty parametric plier holder modeled in CadQuery. To customize (assuming you have a working CadQuery install), simply set your plier dimensions and number of pliers you want to hold. Then run and it'll create your custom holder!
I included step files for 1-6 pliers, and 10 and 20 just to show how ridiculous you can make it :-)
Use with 2x “inert-empty.stl” from the baseline honeycomb wall.
I printed at 0.3mm layer height with a 0.4mm nozzle and 4 walls.
2023/05/13 Update: I added an if/else statement to determine how many honeycomb attachments are necessary. If the pliersX variable is more than 55 (with the rest of the settings at default), it will only create one connector. Otherwise, it creates two.
2023/08/06 Update: Pliers are not one-size-fits-all, so I added several sizings. These are in subfolders called “{plierX}mmx{plierY}mm”, where plierX refers to the width of the pliers and plierY refers to the depth. For reference, the original sizes were 15mm depth, and 50mm and 60mm width. Next up, I may add some customizable tolerances for the pegs based on some feedback in the comments.
