Whether your Guider 2 is old, broken, found a cheap deal on aliexpress FF store on a return deal, or just want to get away from the stock firmware and wish to take the leap to Marlin or Klipper, This mod is for you!
All parts were printed with ASA with Voron ABS part spec slicer settings.
The goal was to retain the stock rods and bearings to reduce cost (I still chose to purchase some LM10LUU bearings so I didn't have to put 2 of the small ones in place, but this is totally acceptable), while adding a new motherboard/mount to run klipper, and adding a tool head with adequate cooling and looks, while retaining direct drive.
To achieve this I grafted the HEVO 2020 gantry and adapted it to the machine by modeling mounts that fit the stock location. These mounts were made to accept heatserts and made to be universal for any corner just press in for the holes you need. Even the Y endstop from the link will work. I am using sensorless for X and the photoelectric stop for Y which works flawlessly.
Next I needed a toolhead, found a hevo related manta mk2, by BoothyBoothy. and made some changes to suit the machine. Made and adapter for the gantry, Made an Orbiter v1.5 mount, found some 5015 ducts, found a BL Touch Mount with ADXL345 mounting.
The included hevo mount requires m5 hardware and is a crude mount that I will admit suited the purpose so I did not refine it. I simply used super glue to join the motor mount and idler parts to them and used super glue as thread locker.
The X-rod spacers are affixed with the stock bolts and aid in centering the rods in the Y carriages.
