Yaesu FT-3DR non slip docking base plate

The Yeasu FT-3DR does not come with a docking station, you have to buy that seperately.

When you get it, it does not have a flat metal base that you can easily put something like Dycem on instead they stamped 4 feet into it but 4 metal feet and a desk just means it is going to slip and slide all over, it has fallen off my desk several times.

I created a base plate that you can put on the docking station to make it nice and flat to be able to use a non slip material like Dycem on the bottom.

I left the hole in the middle open in case you need to get into the dock for some reason.

I used 3m transfer tape to adhere to the Dycem non slip material, and also to attach the base plate to the dock, once done it doesn't move anymore. It loses the non stick abilities if dirty so when the bottom is dirty just wipe it down with a damp rag or some windex/window cleaner.

You don't have to use transfer tape you can use contact cement or whatever, you can also at times find the transfer tape in smaller pieces besides a roll of it.

I buy Dycem by the roll as it has a million uses but you can get strips or smaller pieces.
