The Cathedral by Artist Auguste Rodin from the Musée Rodin. The scan is cut into two parts to create final height of 300 mm. The slices are pinned together using the awesome Parametric Snap Pins negative created by emmett on Thingiverse.
Two right hands intertwine creating a space in-between. The way these two hands meet, remembers the architectural style typical of gothic which highly fascinated the sculptor.
Completely cut into stone with original toolmarks still visible, this piece is part of the many works created by the artist after 1900 and representing sole hands. Other example of this stylistic choice might be "The hand of God", "The hand of the Devil", "Hands of lovers" and "Hand from the tomb".
The actual sculpture is quite large (Dimensions : H. 64 cm ; W. 29.5 cm ; D. 31.8 cm) while this print is scaled to 30 cm.
