How does it sound?

Thanks to Denis Kovalev for making this video.

Changelog:

Version 3

  • Reduced Airway hight, 1mm instead of 1,2mm,
  • Teardroppier sounding
  • Less airy
  • Better breath curve
  • Better sound
  • Added  a Version without the Triforce

Version 2

  • Improved the soundhole for better breath curve, and better sound.
  • Changed the design around the triforce a little bit.

The Ocarina

It is designed to be printed.

The internal design helps to reduce airy high notes( Better sound, no Acute Bend).

It is tuned: A4 up to F6

Standard 12-hole fingering

All holes closed for A4, all holes open for F6

For A4 the required air pressure is low , more opened holes need more air pressure to hit the note.

Print Settings

Rafts:

I use Brim

Supports:

No

Resolution:

0.2

Infill:

20%

Filament: Sunlu PLA+

Notes:

Print orientation is on the moutpiece, no support, only brim if needed.

0.4 mm nozzle
0.8mm wall thickness

4 Top and Bottom layers

Wall Ordering: Outside To Inside

Walls before Infill.

Bigger or smaller nozzles may change the tune.

Any other Wall Ordering may change the size of the airway and the soundhole, resulting in a to small Airway and/or soundhole.

Try to avoid stringing! It is hard to remove.

The soundhole and the airway have to be printed clean. Blobs or other errors in this area can mess everything up.

Glue the Triforce

The Position of the Triforce when the mouthpiece is pointing upwards:

U: upper segment

R: right segment

L: left
