Climbing holds are very expensive and a major cost factor for a home wall/spray wall. So why not make it yourself with the 3D printer?

The crimps uploaded here are rather difficult to hold (7mm crimp) and intended for slabs or slight overhang (in a 45° spray wall these are untenabl).

This climbing hold can be printed with almost any material. I personally have had good experiences with PetG and ABS (with ABS it is possible to create dual textures with Atzeton).

Texture:
Option 1: print the handle with 100% infill and then bake it in an oven with salt (see video by Giles Barton-Owen: https://youtu.be/EY-NxW1e40g )

Option 2:
Paint the handle with synthetic resin and sprinkle sand (I use sand for birds from the pet department) over it. Then let the resin harden, blow off the excess sand and finally coat the grip with matt two-component paint (the climbing grips in the pictures were made like this)

It is advisable to experiment with the texture beforehand, as this is rarely perfect straight away.
