Intro

This is a remixed version of the War of the Ring quick setup inserts by WerfWerf.

All I have done is split the trays up into smaller sections so that they can be printed on a 250mm x 210mm bed like the Prusa MK3S+. The original models were too large for my print bed, so I decided to contribute this remix. Thanks to WerfWerf for sharing his design!

This particular insert is nice for a few reasons:

  • Accommodates sleeved cards.
  • Provides compartments that shorten setup times.
  • Complete replacement of the original insert.
  • Utilizes the full space of the box.

NOTE: The expansions do not fit with this storage solution. WerfWerf has an expansions design that you can print that should print fine on a 250mm x 210mm bed.

Printing Instructions

You will want to print one of every file that is listed.

Files are named for the faction of miniatures that they hold. The trays for the “Free People” and “Shadow” factions are different, so make sure to print each one. Since they are named accordingly, you can print them in different colors as a stylistic choice.

Each faction has:

  • Setup Tray, split into two parts.
  • Reinforcements Tray, split into two parts.
  • Card Trays, two for each faction (four total).

The token tray is also split into two parts.

The “card” files are all the same. I added it multiple times simply to take the guess work out of how many to print for each faction.

The models themselves are solid. To achieve the grid look that is in my pictures, you can print the model with the following modifications:

  • 0 top layers
  • 0 bottom layers
  • 15% Rectilinear infill

I printed it this way as a stylistic choice and because it uses less filament.

Storage Instructions

These trays are the exact same as the original design, just split. You simply need to arrange them the same as the originals.

I would recommend taking a look at WerfWerf's original storage method. He uses labels to indicate what kind and how many of each miniature should go in each tray slot to make setting up fast and easy.

The only way I deviated from this is how I store my tokens.
