Say hello to Penguin Pete. Make a team of them in different sizes! He looks up at you and waves his wings! Also works as a ring holder for his crown! No supports needed. A good first test of your MMU!
Printing suggestions
You need an MMU to print this with three colors. I suggest making them at about 60-70 percent scale in lots of three or four, which only takes a few hours for several of them. At 60% scale with a .3 layer height it is only 85 tool changes. At 100% scale at .3 it is 138 tool changes. The wings and nose are both purposely angled up just enough so you don't need any supports!
Suggested colors are black, white, and yellow or gold. The photo show him printed at two different sizes at 70 and 100 percent with a quarter for reference. Use a .3 layer height with 3 perimeters (in order to get solid outlines on each color) to print him fast with a .6 nozzle (or use a .4 physical nozzle and tell your printer you are using a ,6 which also works as fast a real .6). The color sections are modeled as thick parts so they don't bleed through.
Videos of him being made
Here is a playlist of five videos where you can watch him being created. A few show my slot buffer in action and one video show me making him in Fusion 360.
An original design seen here first
My child designed him in a drawing he did showing the wings up with big round eyes and also named him Penguin Pete. I then modeled him so he could easily be printed in multicolor. This model color sections were made a separate modeled parts in Fusion 360 rather than being painted on in Prusaslicer. The model was entirely created in Fusion 360.
The author marked this model as their own original creation.
