AtomRC Killer Whale - Motor Mount + Low Profile Fairing

A motor mount and custom low-profile fairing for the Atom RC Killer Whale motor pods. The motor mount improves the cooling of the ESC area, and the fairing should be compatible with the original motor mounts (not tested!)

The fairing weighs approximately 25g when printed.

The motor mounts are designed for M3 nylock nuts, and the fairing mounting plates are designed for M3 6mm length threaded inserts. Use 4 M3x14 mm screws to assemble.

The front ESC plate included in the kit can still be used if the corners are trimmed (see images).

Fusion 360 .f3d files are included if you want to make any modifications

Printing:

• Any material is fine, I used PLA
• The motor mounts should be printed with at least 3 walls, 3 top/bottom layers, and 30% infill
• The fairing mount plates and fairing can be printed however you like!

Assembly:

• The motor mounts require a little foam removal where the nuts protrude
• Sand the foam before gluing any of the plates in to improve adhesion
• Once the plates are glued in, if the threaded inserts don't line up perfectly then you can reheat the insert in-place without removing the entire plate
