This is my take on filament cards and a holder. The holder can hold up to 90 “cards” or swatches, and these cards are TINY! Each uses about 1g of filament and can be printed in less than 15 minutes on most machines. (12 minutes on my Ender 3 with the default profile in Cura)

The cards don't really have a technical purpose, but they do include what I typically look for when selecting a filament: Surface finish, “transparency” using layer count, overhangs, bridges and sharp corner definitions.

At the bottom of the card we can find:

  • transparency with layers - four sections showing 0.2mm, 0.4mm, 0.6mm and 0.8mm thickness
  • bridging - a very short bridge, I'll admit, but useful

Just above that we find:

  • a 45 degree overhang on the right
  • a 45 degree “ramp” on the left
  • 4mm hole
  • a very odd sized hexagon - mostly useful for displaying sharp corners

And at the top we have:

  • the filament type in bold letters
  • a big flat surface behind the lettering to show the surface finish

Everyone has their own print settings so I didn't upload pre-sliced files, however below are the settings I used for the various cards:

PLA, PLA Plus, Silk PLA: 195C / 60C
ABS, ABS Plus: 240C/100C
PETG: 230C/80C
TPU: 210C/40C
