Some filament spools (e.g. Prusa) have notches in the rim so when filament is pulled at a side angle it can catch on the notch and ruin a print. This is particularly a problem when using the MMU Filament buffer because the filament buffer needs to pull at an angle to accommodate 5 filaments.
This design allows the spool to feed straight before turning to the filament buffer.
If you have built the
Prusa Enclosure using Lack tables just use more of the 5×20 mm pan head screws to secure in front of each spool holder.
