3dfx Voodoo2 Armor (Single Card)

Update: Design updated to use M2x8mm screws instead of 6mms.

The 3dfx Voodoo2 card has many small components and very fine-pitched main chips. I have personally seen too many Voodoo2 cards with missing components or crushed pins due to harsh handling or storage.

So here is an armor set to give my mind some peace. You might also find this makes the card more visually appealing ;)

Printing

This design is BIG. My Ender 3 Pro is JUST big enough to fit it. Please make sure your printer bed is big enough to complete the job. If you use clips to fix your printing surface, you might need to move them to different locations to avoid collision.

Print with the outside of the model facing down. This model does NOT need supports.

A front piece version without the chip markings is also provided (since some of you might have issues printing the text nicely).

Use 4 sets of M2x8mm hex screws and nuts to install: [LINK]

Special Hollow Print

If you worry too much about solid shell suffocating your card, try the following special print settings:

• Top Layers / Bottom Layers / Initial Bottom Layers = 0
• Infill Density = 20%
• Infill Pattern = Triangles (or whatever you like)
• Infill Line Directions = [-60] (if you want straight vertical lines)
• Infill Line Multiplier = 3

Verified to not conflict with the PCI slot:

You can use 30x30mm heatsinks on the main chips without a problem:
