I always wanted to be able to look across the room and see the color order more easily on my spools.  Magnetic flags only take 8 minutes to print and can easily be moved to new different slot position.

You can see a video here -  https://www.youtube.com/shorts/nkol89NdZd4

How to Make:

  1. Print the arch as shown in the 3mf with full supports everywhere.
  2. Attach five 10x3mm magnets to the arch magnet locations with superglue. Choose a magnet orientation and make it the same for all five magnets.
  3. Print a flag for each color with no supports, with the flag flat on the bed.
  4. Use 10x1mm circular magnets and superglue these to the base of each flag. Make sure the magnet orientation works with the arch orientation you chose earlier.
  5. Remove the two 20mm hex screws that are used to attach the electronics enclosure to the top of the MMU.
  6. Place the arch on top of the electronics enclosure and use two 25mm hex screws to attach it to the arch, going through the electronics enclosure holes to the MMU holes below.

After I made this I designed this related mod which keeps the MMU springs and screws in place. I recommend you to use these two mods together to really enhance your MMU. Use with two 22mm screws.

The flags, slightly scaled down in size,  can also be used as motor visualizers for the MMU's three motors by magnetically clicking to those with an 8x2mm magnet.

There is also a non magnetic flag design provided that uses a rounded clip alternate design. It can also attach to the same MMU arch, but also can clip onto thin aluminum bars that are about ¾ inch wide as shown in the background of the second picture and in the video.  On the arch, I also envision people mounting other things to it using the magnets and/or the side inset slots that are now provided so I kept those slots on the design and included these alternate clips.

The flags also make a nice tool to press filament ends back into the slots.
