I had some magnets laying around and i tought it would be great to make something useful with them.
But instead of making a simple box with a magnetic lid, i tought it would be fun to test your printer at the same time.
The hexabox is meant to do that.
With overhangs and bridges everywhere, it will test your printer abilities for sure.
100% support free.
Longest bridge is 51mm long.
Overhangs are 45 degrees, pretty easy to do with a well calibrated printer.
Small details like the tappered "X" on each face give some texture but also complexity to this print.
Files are already placed in the right orientation.
You will need:
(8x) 8x3mm rare earth magnets
Finished box is 100x100x100mm. Nice size for a lot of applications.
Instructions are really easy: Print the two parts, and glue magnets inside mounting holes.
BE CAREFULL: Check you magnet polarity before glueing!!!!
The box on the pictures is printed with a 0.3 layer height. I have checked the files to be printable in 0.3 and 0.2 layer height.
You can do this print under 6hrs easily with a 0.3 layer height. (box and lid)
Be sure to have good bridge settings, with nice cooling for the overhangs, and everything should be fine!
Have fun!!!
