Keeping an outdoor griddle rust-free can be a challenge in rainy or humid environments. A waterproof cover needs to be propped up above the griddle to keep the moisture away from griddle.
Griddle Cover Prop v3.stl is a three-part model (base, stem, and dome) that screws together to put on your griddle after it's cleaned and cooled before you cover it. Griddle corner spacer v1.stl is a spacer that can be put on the corners of the griddle for some extra ventilation. (I'm not sure how useful it is after trying it, but including in case anybody finds it interesting.
No supports needed for any of the pieces. Print the Cover Prop parts as they are oriented. Print the corner spacer upside-down. I used PETG with a 0.6 nozzle and 15% infill, and it is plenty sturdy.
F3D files are included in case you need to adjust tolerances or size. The cover prop uses the following parameters:
| Parameter | Default |
|---|---|
| dome_diameter | 150 mm |
| dome_height | 35 mm |
| stem_diameter | 25 mm |
| stem_height | 150 mm |
| stem_insert_height (thread length) | 20 mm |
| base_diameter | 180 mm |
If you need to adjust the tolerance, edit the two offset features towards the end of the timeline:
