This is the Mikusiński Cube, a cube dissection puzzle similar to but harder than the Soma Cube. It was invented sometime before 1950 by J. G. Mikusiński. There are six polycube pieces each composed of four or five small cubes, and you have to put them together to form a 3x3x3 cube. There are only 2 solutions. You can try for other figures too, but the W Wall is still impossible…
At 100% the cube is 75 mm on a side. (I printed mine at 66.7% for a 50 mm cube.) The base, unlike that of my Soma Cube model, seems to be fine without rescaling.
Piece 1 is the only one that needs supports. I then had to file away some remaining support material to get that piece to fit well with the others.
I have a blog post about the Mikusiński Cube here: https://mathematrec.wordpress.com/2023/04/23/another-cube/
The author marked this model as their own original creation.
