This design came about because while I think that while C Average's Sun Dial Watch is incredibly cool, it is also beyond my skill-level to manufacture. Also, it is designed for a different latitude than that at which I live.

So I made this watch instead, which achieves the same purpose with fewer parts. Instead of a gnomon that springs into place, my gnomon clicks into a slot and can be stowed inside the watch when not in use.

This sundial is calibrated to 39⁰ latitude and includes a level and compass in the design so that you can be sure that it is correctly oriented before reading the time.

Assembly

On my printer, the compass and bubble levels were press fits, but I found that if I bumped my wrist they sometimes fell out, so I used a drop of super-glue to hold them in place.
