🇯🇵 東京へようこそ!

Welcome to Shinjuku, Tokyo!

These models were created by Dany Sánchez.

This entry includes 2 models:

  • Tokyo Metropolitan Government Building
  • Shinjuku Park Tower

These are some of the tallest and most iconic buildings in Shinjuku and all of Tokyo. Both were designed by architect Kenzo Tange. Shinjuku is a ward of the greater Tokyo metropolis, near the city center. It is a busy hub of transportation, finance, retail, entertainment and government.

The Tokyo Metropolitan Government Building (東京都庁舎, Tōkyō-to Chōsha), also referred to as Tochō (都庁) for short. It houses the local government of the metropolis of Tokyo, including all the cities, wards, villages and towns that constitute it. It was finished in 1990 and is the tallest City Hall in the world. At 242.9 meters (797 ft), it was the tallest building by roof height in Tokyo until 2007. Several buildings have surpassed it since (from Wikipedia).

The Shinjuku Park Tower (新宿パークタワー) is the second tallest building in Shinjuku, at 235 m (771 ft). It was finished in 1994. It includes retail, office and hotel space. The movie "Lost in Translation" takes place in the rooftop hotel (from Wikipedia).
