I thought you might all enjoy this mini security camera prop I created. It's a fun little reminder that in todays society “someone is always watching”. The model was inspired by 3Dfiti (https://www.instagram.com/3dfiti/). I designed this with minimal supports and no additional hardware.

Design Notes:

You will need some CA Glue or something to bond the parts together. No additional hardware is required. The camera is assembled in the orientation shown in the picture below:

Parts needed:

Hood x1

Body x1

Front x1

Back x1

Arm x1

I included a flat surface version of the arm and Skadis version for mounting on the IKEA Skadis pegboard (as shown in my photos) If you use the flat version you can attach double stick tape to mount it. If you want to remix it to include magnets please do.

It is worth noting that I put a little notch on the inside of the camera body that indicates the top and the back of the body. It is also used to indicate which way up the back plate attaches to the camera body. The hood which is longer piece on top of the camera body is glued slightly forward from the back by just 1mm or so. It's purely aesthetic so you can mount hood however you like though.

The “wire” is a piece of black TPU filament about 3in long pushed into the pack plate and into the hole in the arm. You could use something else if you want. You could also push it through the back plate and tie it off before you glue the back plate in place. Thats up to you.

Print Info:

I printed the one in the pictures as follows:

Layer Height: 0.15mm

Infill: 15%

Infill Pattern: Rectilinear

Supports: Build Surface Only needed for the Arm. It supports the pin the camera sits on.

Raft: None

Brim: I used brim for the hood as I printed it standing on its end.

My printed Parts:

Printed on my Prusa MK3s with the settings detailed above.

Back / Front and Skadis Arm: Printbed Grey PLA

Hood / Body: Printbed White PLA

I hope you enjoy this prop and please remember to leave a rating and picture if you make one. I always love to see others printing the things I design and the colors you choose to print them in.

If you have feedback or a suggestion for an improvement leave me a comment I am willing to hear it.

Above all, I hope you enjoy the print. Thanks.
