VAWT Model (Darrieus)

With the hopes of gaining some practical knowledge and experience with a VAWT, this scaled down turbine's purpose is to trial and error.

No supports are needed and the blades print in spiral mode. The axis has a diameter of 6mm and is held in place with two 6mm/10mm bearings. The intention was to create a platform with easily interchangeable parts to rapidly prototype and test.

Apart from oxidation of the steel axis (ripped out of an old printer) and minor structural issues (bearing struts) in high wind (> 40 kn), this thing rotates happily ever after on top of a repurposed windsurf mast.
