Celtic Knot Filament Rack

This modular shelving system is designed to hold filament without the need to put a bunch of holes in the walls. 

The outer bracket is the same in all 4 corners and can be rotated or flipped without issue. Each layer needs 2 outer brackets to construct. Center supports can be used as needed to fight sagging in the PVC piping.  

All screw holes and nut slots are designed for M3 hex nuts and M3x10mm Bolts. These holes allow for connector brackets to be added to increase stability. You can use the large ones to anchor the shelf to the wall or tie a string/wire to the diagonal corners. They can also be used to add accessories in the future. 

Materials needed: 

• Filament: 2KG PLA in an air conditioned space. ASA for hot areas. 
• PVC: ½" PVC-1120 SCH-40 PR 600 PSI
• M3 Nuts and 10mm Bolts
• String or wire for rear X brace (optional)
• Wall anchors. 

Build Notes:

If you’re having trouble with inserting the nuts, it may be possible to skip the ones in the corners. However, they will help provide additional stability. I opted to use glue for mine.
