lovely, I didn't take as much time as I should have to get the tolerances better... so its not so much a gravity knife... but it does move with a little effort. pinches at the bottom yet.
i'll have to try again. because otherwise, its great, good size, hand fit, and doesn't rattle so much as the other one I tried... but if i get it loose enough to work as a gravity knife. that may change... lol
Fun to make had toreprint a couple parts scaled down and still file a bit.. I probably have some tuning I need to do in regards to tolerances I guess?? Fun to play with tho!!
Great project but my printer couldn’t handle the tolerances. Adjusted some settings and it turned out great.
@Ogami_191739 can i repost this on Thingiverse I will give you credit
@Anonymousgoa_1385404 Sure, go ahead
love the model made a comb blade see the remix page if you want to have one
Tiny bit of filing on the internal of the base to make opening smooth. Probably a me problem but aside from that absolutely love the model.
Super fun to play with, and really detailed model. The tanto blade did not seem to have a spot for the Blade Insert, so aligning that was manual, and spent some extra time sanding down the blade to slide smoothly. Otherwise, very satisfying and impressive model!
@amango_240854 What is the brand&model of that filament?
@elanozturk_1514616 It's Prusament PLA Galaxy Black, it looks grey/silverish in some lights.
I love how realistic this model is! After a bit of sanding, painting, and gluing, I can now fidget with this thing until I can get a real one. Thanks again for the design! 10/10
After a bit of sanding and gluing everything because everything is quite loose, it works great
Great model, and feels nice in the hands. Required a bit of sanding on the blade before it could slide nicely.
I suspect it was because I used a PEI textured bed and that creates a bumpy surface which isn’t optimal for dimensional accuracy. If you are using a textured bed, I recommend sanding down each side of the flat side of the blade down before gluing. I used superglue.
