HP OfficeJet Pro 9016 Printer Head Gear

HP OfficeJet Pro 9016 and other printers in this family has a design fault where the printer head movement gear is made out of plastic and breaks. The print head then struggles to move from its parked position.

My printers gear broke round about 14 months after purchase (just out of warrenty). I spent hours on support with HP trying to diagnose it until they told me that my only option is to send in the printer for an out of warrenty fix.

Decided to open up the printer myself and found the broken gear. Printed the replaced and the printer is still going strong with occasional home use.

Printed with the standard 0.4 nozzle.
