Update: Added two pictures of the laser cut plates + cork gaskets installed. They are a tight fit but work great after several thousand miles on them.

Purpose

Reverting back to OEM style suspension requires a shock support plate (and gasket). These are typically discarded by previous owners. Used versions can be found but there's a high cost and questionable quality/quantity. I figured I could save time, money, and give back to the community.

Fab Guide

I sent the drawing off to Send Cut Send, using steel, 3mm or more of thickness. I also added the powder coat service. Also had them make cork gaskets using their thickest material. All together the costs were around $50 USD as of Q2-2023.

Pictures

Cover picture is a plastic mockup to test fit. Final product picture coming soon. Other pictures are of the top of a shock and of one installed without the top plate showing that it will poke up and damage your hood (ask me how I know). Last picture is pulled from the service manual and show where the plate and gasket should sit in the suspension.
