Came out years ago with a simple bump for the stroller we use at home and worked ok.

Then we bought the YoYo stroller from babyzen (awesome stroller btw) and it wasn't possible to attach anything to the weels, due to tight tolerances and full solid wheel covers, plus the brake system in the way.

I designed this snap on rocker with these goals in mind:

  • TPU bumps: for durability and avoiding scratches to the floor
  • Avoid interfering with the braking system or the wheel rotation
  • Bumps should be noticeable but not too hard (it's a rocker, not a shaker)
  • Should be spaced so that it emulates a run on paving stone
  • Must not slip over the wheel

Some hours of measuring, designing, prototyping, fixing later…

Here we are with the YoyoRocker v1.0!

I added the STEP files to allow for remixes (thinking about converting the bumps to snow grippers, but it's almost summer here, no snow to try on).

Printing

Print 3 bumps in TPU (supports needed)

Print 1 connector in PLA or PETG (no supports)

Orient the models according to the pictures for best results.

Assembling

Put a small amount of CA Glue in the connector slots, insert the bumps into the slots and press for some seconds.
