Somehow the plastic SCALE indicator lens/cover broke on my Moccamaster coffee maker, and so there was just a square hole left. I wanted to fill it with something translucent, so I designed this snap-in lens/cover, and printed it in clear PETG.
I slowed the print speed way down to 10mm/s for quality, and kept a 0.2mm layer height, to minimize the number of layers for light-transmission purposes. The central part that extends into the hole is only one layer, or about 0.5mm thick so that the walls can flex and allow the ridges on each side to get pushed in and then pop back out and keep the lens in place.
I would imagine that other color filament, especially translucent types, would look even better than the clear PETG. Enjoy!
