This is a replica of the Lord of the Rings book cover made into a bookend. It also includes pages and a song from the series printed on one of the pages. It contains 3 parts that need to be printed separately (cover with lettering/base, spine with lettering, and pages with song text). I am going to be printing the layers that have the letters with a 0.25 mm nozzle in order to get the highest amount of detail. I will be changing to a 0.4 mm nozzle after the text is complete in order to speed up the prints.
I have designed spots for magnets (3mm x 8mm circle magnets) to put the pieces together after they are all printed.
The lettering styles, text have been taken from sources on the internet and converted into a useable format to design with.
The lettering has a depth of 0.3 mm which is chosen based on a 0.15 mm layer height. This means only two layers are printed with the text colour and only need 1 colour change for a single extruder printer.
Additionally, I will be designing a rear cover and pages as the other side of the bookend.
The author marked this model as their own original creation.
