The Answer.

Also, just having fun trying out a some 3D CAD and printing ideas. More versions on the way.

This one : 42 Coin - Two Color

Note : This is a remix of my previous 42 Coin - the difference here is in the two color printing with filament switching. Getting this to work well required some special techniques which are detailed in the Print Instructions.

Print instructions

Use the provided 3mf file to print in PLA in two colors with filament switching. You will of course have to switch filaments twice - once for each face of the coin. You can of course choose any color filaments that you like - I used galaxy silver and black.

There are two important considerations in getting this print to work well :

First, print the coin with the "42 side" down - this is because that side has a slightly larger font size which promotes better adhesion to the print bed.

Second, make sure the print bed is well cleaned so that you get optimal print adhesion; a little bit of glue stick is also recommended.

Note that when the first filament change comes up, you can inspect the initial part of the print to make sure that all of the text adhered properly to the print bed. If not, just cancel the print and start over.
