A really simple tool to help us place the magnet at the right Orientation.

The idea is to use a weak magnet embedded in this tool… just enough to hold it and identify the pole of the magnet, easy enough to slide off the target magnet.

I included the parametric Fusion 360 File, so you can change the parameters to fit your need.
The default file uses a 5x2mm magnet…

You will put a pause at a certain layer height where it is about to print the next layer that will cover it… you need to slice first, then you find out the layer height in the preview and add a Pause. After Adding the pause, then you need to re-slice… (Note this is using OrcaSlicer/BambuStudio), I think other slicers should have similar feature.

Start the print, then it will pause just when it is about to start at that layer height…
Place the magnet in the hole… then press resume… I put 0.2mm clearance for height and diameter (changeable in the parameters) so that it won't snag your nozzle when it resumes printing..

You can adjust the “magnet distance” parameter, the further the magnet from the tip, the weaker the hold…

You need to print 2 off these using different color to differentiate them.
