Description

PDF

This is a customizable hydroponics system, which means the materials you want varies. For example, if you just want 3 planters, you will need 1 base, and 2 followers. Depending how you connect/attach the units, the number of stoppers and unitconnector will vary. Look further to see the uses of stoppers and unitconnector.

Basically you will need to print:

1x baseshell

1x basecap

(#of planters you want)x followershell

(#of planters you want)x followercap

(a ton of)x stopper

(a good amount)x unitconnector

ASSEMBLY:  (if you don't know how to proceed, please look down at the uses of the pieces section to help)

Step 1: First, locate your 3d printed baseshell.  If you want to attach another planter to this one, grab a followershell, and connect them with the unitconnector at the paths. Repeat as desired. Block off any remaining paths using stopper so that your system is watertight. In any of these steps, please use hot glue or something to make these parts watertight. Once your system is watertight and finished, put on the basecap and the followercap. You can pour water into the ‘straw’ or ‘hole’ in the basecap for water to enter the system. Put any plants you want in the caps. Now, you are done!

What the uses of the pieces are:

baseshell: The base units are where the water comes into/enters your system. That is why there is a ‘straw’ or ‘hole’ coming out of this shell, for the water to come in. The shell is basically where the water is stored. Each shell unit also has 6 'paths' leading out of it (look at picture!), to potentially connect to other shell units. Note, if that path is not directing water to other units (it is connected to nothing), you must seal it with the stopper. In other words, each path either has a followercap or a stopper on it.

basecap: This is the cap for the base. Caps are where the plants will be seated.

followershell: The follower units are the ‘normal’ units, where the water won't directly enter or leave from these units.

followercap: This is the cap for the follower shells.

unitconnector: This is for connecting two shells at the paths. Unitconnectors can fit over the paths coming out of the shells.
