So yes, anti-seize bottles generally come with a brush lid in the cap, and yes it works okay, but I'd been stretching a glove over the top of my bottles and using a hose clamp to hold them on so I could just use an acid brush instead of having to do all that work of unscrewing the lid.

I decided to get a bit more formal with things and create a lid that would allow me to hopefully reduce the rate at which it dries out while simultaneously making it easy to the the silvery paste on everything.

What you'll need:

  1. Permatex 8oz bottle of anti-seize.
  2. Rubber glove. I used nitrile, but I think latex may be better as it's stretchier.
  3. Something to cut up the glove.
  4. The 3D printed lid and the cap.

How to assemble:

  1. Cut up the glove so you get two usable sheets.
  2. Drape one sheet you cut from the glove glove over the opening to the bottle and push it down in a bit, we want some slack before tightening the lid.
  3. Cut a small, 5-10mm slit in the middle of the glove.
  4. Screw on the lid.
  5. Now do the similar operation as before, but with the smaller cap.
  6. Once that's screwed on you can insert an acid brush.

The point of this was simply to make accessing the anti-seize easier because I often find myself in scenarios where I have one hand free and didn't think to loosen the lid before hand.

One note of caution, this will cause the anti-seize to dry out faster, but that only means you won't be able to use the one bottle for generations.

Print instructions

I printed using PETG. The lid required supports, but they removed easy enough. The cap prints fine with the threads pointed upwards.
