Rain Collector

A rain collector to insert in your downpipe. Its made for a DN100 Downpipe and a ¾" or 1" garden hose. The collector should be mounted in such a way that the internal weir is on the desired waterline in the rain barrel. Thus the rain barrel cannot be overfilled.

The frost proof version has an internal drainage hole therefore no water can accumulate in the rain collector. The drain hole is printed undersized and has to be drilled out to 8 mm to fit the plug. The internal plug schuld be printed with a smaller layer height. I used Blue Teck to stick the plug in place and seal it.

I used eSun PLA+ for my rain collector because it is always in the shade. For rain collectors that are exposed to the sun, I recommend a more heat-resistant material such as PETG or ABS  ASA. I used clear coat to improve waterproofing.
