It is always little difficult to position my caliper in exactly the same way when measuring simple rectangular test samples. So I designed this one which has grooves in its ends. The distance between the lowest points in the grooves is 100mm. As result, the repeatability in my measurements improved and the spread decreased. I use 3 of these for X-Y plane check.
