There are 3 parts to the book:
The font and back covers each have 2 cavities intended or embedding small 5x2mm magnets. To embed the magnets, I used a “Pause at height” post processing script in Cura to stop the print on the layer before the cavity gets covered. When the printer paused, I used a drop of glue to insert the magnet into the cavity. I used another “Pause at height” script to swap filament colors. For the pages effect on the Front Cover, I printed the ones in the photos with overlap settings to get them to print with a fuzzy skin.
Once all 3 pieces are printed, assembly is simple. You can just lay out the pieces and insert two small pieces of filament to act as hinges. I cut mine slightly (1-2mm) shorter than the hole depth and pressed them in. If you're worried about it falling out, you could add a dab of superglue to the end or use a soldering iron/woodburner to melt the opening, but I didn't find it necessary.
The front cover is left blank so you can add your own design as desired. I just did a concentric first layer pattern for the ones in the pictures.
I originally designed this to be a print-in-place model, but it just seemed to work way smoother with the filament hinge. If people are interested, I can upload the print-in-place version as well.
By the way, when I started making this model, I searched for Dice Book and didn't see anything interesting come up, but as I'm writing this, I see another one has just been uploaded! If you're interested in my dice book, I highly recommend checking out this other one as well; it looks awesome.
The author marked this model as their own original creation.
