Here in Washington State we have quite an infestation of stink bugs going this year. My wife, normally quite disinterested in my 3d-printing habits, commissioned this hack after discovering one of the disgusting critters hiding inside of our Cuisinart CPK-17P1 electric kettle.
The design works as-is but there are two improvements you can make if you want the full effect:
- Nako Fishing Weights – By adding the two ½ oz tungsten weights the cap will sit more solidly and without fuss on the kettle. With the weights, the cap can be dropped into place and it will seat itself correctly.
- Remove Before Flight Keychain – While the words “remove before use” are printed into the top of the cover, this red flag adds a bit of fun and visibility to be sure one does not end up with PETG-flavored tea by accident (I would not recommend adding this without the fishing weights as it'll make the cap want to tip out of the spout).
The author marked this model as their own original creation.
