I really like the original as well as vase-mode cable organizers but they were meant for only for drawers or boxes. I'm trying to make the best use of my desk-mounted Ikea Skadis board so the idea was born to move cables there too.

This model is a remix of the original box and a locking mechanism to fix it to the pegboard. You need to print only one box of mine, the additional ones you just slot in :)

I have tested this print (see photos) and it slots well with both the original and the vase-mode versions of the organizers.

The only issue I'm not 100% happy with is that you need a tiny bit of supports. The other alternative was glue…

Printing:

Print with the locking mechanism down. Automatic, tight supports in Prusa Slicer work fine.

Freeing the lock (important):

Do not use a screwdriver to free the mechanism.

  1. Cut the pads in the locking mechanism with a small utility knife or a scalpel.
  2. Turn the locking mechanism with pliers. Trying to free the mechanism by turning the head with a screwdriver most likely will not work.
  3. Once you free it, you can easily lock and unlock it with a screwdriver but you can also operate it from behind the board.

If you have any dooubts how the locking mechanism works here's a link to just this part.

Please, to not remix this model without asking first – there are some nuances which you might miss.

If you would like this model tweaked, just let me know.

If you want to build your own version, just start from the two models that I remixed. They are remixable :)
