I wanted to build a motorized allsky camera. The basis is a Pi4 and an HD camera as usual. The motion control is regulated via an Arduino Nano with Steppershield and DHT22. During the day, the camera should not be exposed to strong UV light (IR filter removed), so it retracts its head like a turtle from a certain level of brightness during the day. At dusk, it then drives up for the night. In addition, there is the possibility to control 2 fans depending on the temperature. A fan blows through the slide and out from under the camera, warming the dome. The 2nd fan is possibly provided on the floor to ventilate the entire housing. All parts are connected with 10mm aluminum tubes, the base and the PSU carrier are glued. Designed for 200 KG-pipes. The length of the whole unit depends on the spindle and tubes you choose, anyone can customize. I used a 200mm spindle and get about 100mm travel.
