Your Ender 3 S1 does not fit into everyone's favorite Platsa cabinet. Creality made the heatbed cable way too sturdy and it gets in the way.

The obvious solution is to cut a hole. To keep the nasty air inside, I have created this cylindrical extension that simply slides into a 120mm circular hole.

To make the model easy to print, the cap is a separate part that is glued in. No supports needed!

120mm is still a tight fit because the cable has a mind on its own. A fully parametric version of this model is available on Onshape.com. Feel free to share your remixes.

The uploaded model has a depth of 150mm and a diameter of 119mm.

I printed this in PLA with a 0.6mm nozzle. If you are using a 0.40mm nozzle, make sure you are using three walls to avoid infill.

What you need:

  • Around 100g of filament
  • 4 M3 screws - maybe 10mm
  • Optional: Angled power cord so you can move the printer back a bit further.
    • You can close the door with the stock power cord that ships with the printer but it's a very tight fit. I had to flip my PEI sheet around to get the necessary clearance.

How it works:

  • Print the files
  • Glue the lid to the cylindrical bit
  • Test fit your printer into the Platsa cabinet (including any insulation/concrete slabs you might have) and mark where the extension should go
    • I eyeballed this and somewhat neglected the fact that my heatbed cable is a bit curved. Easy to compensate by moving the printer to the right.
  • Drill a 120mm hole into your Platsa rear panel
  • Fit the extension and mark the screw holes
  • Remove the extension
  • Use a 3mm drill bit to drill the holes
  • Mount the extension with 4 M3 screws
