Don't openly advertise your personal information. This Dog Info Capsule provides a way to share needed contact information if your dog becomes lost. It solidly secures to a collar. It has a low profile container that is large enough for a note, SD Card, etc. It has a slide to open lid with simple open instructions on the top. And includes a short thank you inside for whomever is helping your dog get back to you.
This is a two part construction. The base has a 25mm (one inch) solid loop to accept a normal- sized webbed collar. It has a curved, beveled contour provides a conformable fit around the dog's neck. The lid slides onto the base with a dovetail and seats on a reinforced side of the base. This creates a storage space of about 50mm x 25mm x 5mm. The lid and base hold together by a friction fit. It also has a shallow finger tab that gives better access to push the lid open.
To create the friction fit, the two parts use tight tolerances. The first few times opening and closing might be difficult. Working it open and closed several times can help.
However, if the printer or settings are not perfectly tuned in, the parts might be too tight to fit. In that case, you have two options before trying to reprint.
If you use a permanent marker to fill in the imprinted letters, you might notice it bleeds through the layer lines. To reduce this, score the letters with a craft knife. It only has to break the surface layer a bit. For the larger letters, trying scoring the outline of the letters. For the smaller letters, one score through each letter might be enough. Finally, scoring across the layers is more important than scoring parallel or with the layer lines. Hope that helps.
Looking forward to hearing how you liked it. Thanks.
