Soft Brush - Scalpy McScrubber

As a bald man, I saw a need in this world for all you hairy people and animals to have a functional long bristled scalp scrubber. Designed with my disgustingly hairy brother's assistance to reach through all that gross hair in order to give that scalp a good scrubbin'.

During my first test print I realized that free standing bristles over 5mm tall become unstable and subsequent layers are not aligned. This made them very deformed and scratchy. To resolve this, I added the 3 Bristle support layers with increasing hole diameter to account for the bristle shape as they get taller.

Print the Bristle supports first in your favorite PLA with minimal infill.

PLA (or whatever you have - don't forget to scale for material shrinkage)

.20 layer height

Brush printed in TPU

Just pause the print when the layer height is right to give the proper clearance. Place the support over the bristles in numerical order starting with 1.

NOTE: Be gentle when placing the supports. TPU stringing can affect the support fit. If the bristle tops don't clear the support, wait a few more layers and try again. I made the mistake of forcing the support in place and it affected the bed level causing a weak bond for the remaining bristle layers. Everything above that point snapped off easily, leaving a bunch of stubby sharp bristles.
