Two part print. Blue outer shell is a single 0.6mm layer translucent filament and the center is solid yellow PLA. Print needs to be paused just before 30mm to insert inner section. This was a very tough print for me to print correctly (could be my jankity Ender) but this was a bit of a torture test. Tolerance between shell and inner design in only about .2mm on either side. I'd love to see different color combos. Let me know what you think.

Print instructions

You first print the Inner Design stl in whatever solid color filament you want. Then load in a transparent filament and print the Outer Shell stl. That outer shell is only .66mm thick (I am printing with a 0.6mm nozzle with an extrusion width set to .66). The shell has a space in the middle just big enough for the Inner Design. When the print reaches the top of the shell, check in your slicer but I chose 29.7mm height, an M600 color change gcode is added. You then insert the Inner Design into the shell and then resume printing, with the same filament. The print finishes sealing the inner design inside. The thin transparent shell is not very transparent viewed at an angle but is when viewed face on, creating a pretty cool effect.
