10/12/23 UPDATE: garage bays are now sloped. Cars should not roll out so easily now.
Portable garage for Matchbox-sized cars. The two halves close hinge open for play or lock together for storage/transport. The top has an integrated bar for carrying.
You'll need to print:
- 2x garage_half.stl
- I used PLA, but other filaments would work
- Print with open sides facing up
- 25% infill
- The carry handle has a ~6cm bridge. My Prusa MK3S+ bridged this just fine with a 0.6mm nozzle. If you use a 0.4mm nozzle, a little support might be required.
- 1x hinge_pin.stl
- 25% infill
- Recommend PETG due to flexibility
- 1x locking_pin.stl
- 25% infill
- Recommend PETG due to flexibility
Assembly:
- Align the garage halves
- Insert the hinge pin through one set of holes
- The garage can now swing open and shut
- The hinge pin is permanently attached
Transport
- Ensure the locking pin is not inserted
- Close the halves
- Insert the locking pin, orienting as shown in the pictures
- Ensure the locking arm snaps into place. The locking pin should not fall out by itself
- Pick up the garage as shown in the pictures
Opening the garage
- Pull the locking pin's arm slightly away from the garage
- Pull the locking pin out
- Open the garage
- Re-insert the pin into the left side of the garage for storage as shown in the pictures
