In short:

  • Pull out the motor part with the shaft
  • Change the motor adapter. Preferably use a wider washer than the original
  • Cut the FYRTUR bracket in half
  • Remove original spacers and add provided spacers on both ends of the bracket
  • Remove the ends and spacers from FRIDANS
  • Stick the motor into the tube of FRIDANS
  • Mount the bracket first to ceiling with the original attachments from FYRTUR so that the attachments are about in the middle of the rails
  • Check horizontal positions and install the inner brackets
  • Install tube, you can still adjust the positions a bit
  • Install outer bracket ends
  • Install stoppers to the weight bar of the blinds inside the fabric. Very tight fit, but worked for me.

There's not too much clearance with the motor-shaft and FRIDANS-tube, but it seems to work just fine. I added some lubricant for the right-side of blind. Perhaps some bearing would work there better.

Extra parts and V1 are not needed for normal procedure.

Changelog:

13.4.2023: The motor adapter slipped out of the track in the tube once. Added a tighter fit version of motor adapter. It's really tight to get in (some grease helps), but once it's there, it probably works better. You can also configure Home Assistant to stop before the blind hits the stoppers, since that is the critical point with the biggest torque.

8.6.2023: The newer version of the adapter has been working fine for two months on both blinds.

22.6.2023: Added end-spacer which is supposed to go to the right end of the blind tube. Motor spacer goes to left side.
