I was very happy with the upgrade parts provided by WICKID for the E3Dv6 Hotend, but soon the fan started to make a terrible noise and finally gave up. Smaller fans have a tendency to wear out fast. I decided to replace it with a 40x40mm fan I had i store (smaller fans with good quality is hard to come by!).
A new fan shroud was needed to fit the bigger fan so i designed this little neat thing that fits like a glove in the upgrade-parts.
E3D V6 All Metal HotEnd Mount for the Ender 3 / Creality CR-10 by WICKID:

Print instructions:
Placement: If you slice it yourself (not downloading the presliced mini+ gcodes) you should place it as it is mounted on the printer (see images). This will place the layers in a direction that will add flexibility for the clambs around the hotend-cooling-flanges.
Support: use support everywhere when you use PETG (which is recommended and PETG has poor bridging capabilities).
Mounting/Assembly:
You need to cut out the thin part of the cover to make room for the shroud (see image for clarification).
The only parts needed is the 40x40mm fan and two m3x16mm (depending on your fan of choice). The shroud snaps around the cooling-flanges just like the original shroud.
It will most certainly fit other applications as well but not tested.
