This Insert stores Frosthavens content in the original box without box lift and it is extremely optimized for fast setup.
It is designed for the box with these dimensions:
16.14 x 11.81 x 9.84 inches or 41.0 x 30.0 x 25.0 cm
The standard English and the standard German version have these dimensions for example. Please make sure that your box has the same dimensions if you have a different version!
Note that the large tuck boxes for the 17 playable characters must be put in with the short side to the bottom. Otherwise, the Monster Trays will not fit! This is a very common mistake. 🙂
All trays for which further explanations are necessary are covered here.
The character boxes have space for everything you need for your character. This includes the character dial and even a pencil. The character mat neatly slides into the also slideable lid for the box. The small and large dividers are meant to separate the locked from the unlocked cards. You can also print more dividers to separate the items from the active attack modifiers for example.
The monster trays help enormously with the setup, as all the necessary cards and standees are stored in their own box. The correct stat sleeves are already integrated as a slideable lid and the trays can be found quickly thanks to the monster initiative order tokens on the top.
I have uploaded a PDF with an alphabetical monster overview, which makes it easier to sort and find the correct monsters.
Note that for the Imps, Scouts, Priests and Guards there are different monster types that share the same deck. All standees for the respective deck are stored in the same box. These trays are larger and have extra dividers. For these monsters, a separate monster initiative token can be printed, which is used exclusively for better readability when searching for the tray.
There is also a tray where additional monster stat sleeve lids can be stored in case several of one monster type are used in the same scenario.
I suggest printing two extra stat sleeve lids for six monsters, two for ten monsters and one for the bosses. You can also store the stat sleeves that came with the game in there if you want to keep them in the box.
The condition tokens tray comes in two variants:
One variant with a slot for the icons in the tray (pictured here). The icons can be printed separately in the corresponding color and inserted into the slot. In my case, no glue was necessary. If the icons do not fit perfectly into the slot, I recommend scaling the size of the icons slightly.
One complete variant, where the icons of the conditions are integrated in the tray, intended to be printed in one color.
This tray also comes in two variants:
One variant that has space for the 5 damage tokens from Gloomhaven in case you want to reuse them (pictured here).
One variant that only has space for the tokens that came with Frosthaven.
These trays also come in two variants:
Both trays split into four smaller sections each so that they can be printed with a smaller print bed (pictured here). Use super glue to connect the individual sections.
One single piece each for large print beds.
I recommend getting an accordion folder to store the following:
All Map Tiles
Envelopes
Section Book, Scenario Book, Rule Book, Solo Scenarios
Sticker sheets
Campaign sheets
Extra sleeves
The folder helps immensly to reduce the setup time.
I bought an A4 accordion folder with 12 compartments for 13€, which works perfectly.
Here is an Amazon Germany link
You can probably find the same one in your country since they are mostly identical.
I have attached a PDF with labels for the compartments and the Frosthaven logo for the front pocket in case you get a folder with the same dimensions.
I would advise against buying the Map Archive from Folded Space. It is made of cardboard, costs twice as much and has only seven compartments.
You can of course also put the entire contents at the top of the box instead if the box lift does not bother you.
This tray has space for 16 of the 18 character miniatures tuck boxes (since at least two of these are always in use). I suggest unfolding the tuck boxes and putting them into the empty large tuck box that came with the game and the mini into the printed character box.
The card trays are branded with the logo of their respective contents on the outer walls. You can adjust the card dividers as desired.
I have also designed dividers for some unlockable content. They are located in a folder named “Spoilers”. The files are named like the corresponding envelope that unlocks the content you need the dividers for.
In addition, there are blank card dividers for the small and large card trays.
Not all objects have been presented here, but only those that are not self-explanatory.
All necessary cards can be sleeved. Cards that can NOT be sleeved are:
Inactive Summer and Winter Road and Outpost Events
Unused Personal Quest Cards
Random Dungeon Cards
Unused Items
Locked class specific ability cards and locked attack modifier cards
ALL other cards can be sleeved. I use 100 microns thick sleeves, 120 microns will probably work too but I have not tested that.
All objects are optimized to print with 0.3mm layer height.
Supports are not necessary for any objects.
For some objects, especially the card dividers, it is recommended to enable arachne.
This project makes great use of automatic color changing, such as the AMS system by Bambu Lab. It is not necessary, however. For some objects you can do a manual color change but you can also print without it completely.
some filenames have information in square brackets. Here is an explanation of what these mean:
[4x] print this object four times. If no quantity is given, print it once.
[Choose] choose between printing one of two different options.
[Optional] decide whether you want to print this object or not.

If you print this insert, please post a make! I would love to see how it turns out and hear your feedback.
Thank you in advance for your support, and happy printing!
2023-05-08: made the Events Summer tray slightly larger and the Buildings tray slightly narrower. The Events Summer and Winter trays are now the same size and therefore interchangable. This is a QOL improvement to make putting the trays back easier.
2023-05-27: Added a German translation of all non language neutral components as a remix.
