This is v4 of my print-in-place DnD dice storage box.

The design stores a standard set of seven dice and I've user tested the pictured green model for 2+ years filled with heavy metal dice, so even in PLA it is a robust and proven design.

Features a print-in-place living hinge and threaded nut for closure. Designed in Solidworks, tested in PLA on a Prusa Mk3 at 0.2 and 0.3 mm layers.

Print Instructions

  • No supports needed
  • The nut is already scaled up by 5%. I recommend trying to print the model as-is, but you may need to play with scaling to get a smooth mate with the threaded boss on the box.
  • DnD dice vary in size-- you may need to scale the box size up or down to securely hold your dice without rattling (if so, don't forget about scaling the nut equally!).
    • Extreme scaling down or up could result in the print binding or being overly loose. If anyone's dice are super small or large, let me know and I can upload a remix with different pocket sizes.
