Introduction:
Draining your resin tanks after use is good practice, but we often don't do it out of inconvenience. This simple device makes it very easy, simply leave your tank and bottle on and let gravity do the rest of the work! In our experience, this system is able to cleanly drain a tank in about 10 minutes, with very minimal residue left on the surface of the tank. This system not only is convenient but also mess-free and saves more resin by allowing the residuals (which would normally be wiped away and discarded) to be fully collected.
Bills of Material:
- 1 meter 1010 aluminum extrusion
- 2x 1010 extrusion T slot nut and bolt
- 8x M3 Brass Threaded Inserts
- 6x M3x18 machine screw
- 1x M3x25 machine screw
Assembly Instructions
The build is relatively straightforward and self-explanatory. Reference the CAD model provided in .STEP form below for more information.
- The six m3 brass threaded inserts should go onto the six holes on the back of the tank cradle. It is then attached to the cradle mount via the six m3x18 screws. Sandwiched them together.
- Insert the remaining two m3 brass threaded inserts into the hole on the back of the cradle mount and the height adjustment wheel. Now screw in the M3x25 machine screw into the adjustment wheel. It's recommended to use some lock tite when screwing into the knob, but do not use lock tite on the cradle mount end. Now screw in the knob assembly into the threaded insert on the back of the cradle mount by just a few turns.
- Slide the entire assembly into the 2020 extrusion, tighten the knob in the back
- Add the two T-Slot nuts to the bottom of the extrusion. Now slide in the base aligned with the cradle assembly on top. Insert the screws that came with the T-Slots into the holes on the base, then align and tighten them into the T-Slot nuts. Note that some T-Slot screw kits may be a bit wider than the holes on the base. If this is the case you can drill the holes out to be a bit larger.
- Now that your assembly is finished, use the adjustment wheel on the rear the set an optimal height for the resin bottle you are using.
- Optionally there are 4 holes on the base to be screwed permanently into a work surface using tampered screws.
