Soldering Fume Extractor

This is a Soldering Fume Extractor using a 12V PC case fan and a adapter to use it on a Loc-line. The Fume Extractor can be adjusted to any position using the Loc Line.
I've been using this for a long time now and don't want to go back. ;)

Loc-line adapter:

The adapter is designed for the Xilence XPF120.R 120mm PC case fan. This is an inexpensive fan from amazon.  But it can also work with other PC fans, but maybe you have to modify it. I put the original file online (DFX).

Power connection:

The housing for the power connection goes in this corner where the fan has the cable outlet. It includes a 5.5mm x 2.1mm DC jack and an on/off switch.

Assembly:

Fan adapter:
Insert the pin into the fan adapter. Then put this in a corner of the fan and fasten it with an M3 screw.

Power connection:
First you feed the Fentilator cable through the power connection housing. Then you solder the switch and the DC Jack. With this fan, red is 12V + and black is 12V - The yellow is not required. (All information without guarantee.) Then glue the DC Jack in the DC jack holder. Then glue the slide switch and the DC jack holder on the housing for the power connection. Then push this into the corner and fasten it with an M3 screw.

Filter holder:
You can attach the filter holder with 2 short M3 screws. For more stability, you also screw through the two corners into the holder in which the Adapter for the Lockline and the power connection are.
