Update - I don't like the access to the SBC in this case, please see my profile for the Orange Pi 5 Desktop Case Version Tres (see the 3mf file without the fan) or use this link:

→ original description is below since I included some thermal testing results

This is a standup case for an Orange Pi with the power, audio, HDMI and USB C coming out the back with internal space for turning flat.  The case is large to keep it stable and protect from the rigors of desktop life.  It also raises up the case so its easy to access the power button, microSD card and USB ports.  The more permanent connections including power supply and HDMI are out the back.

Mounting the SBC vertically keeps it cool, usually around 40-50 C except when full screen video on YouTube when it went up to about 65 C. I added the aluminum active/passive cooling heat sink anyway, and it fits.  The heat sink doesn't do to much for passive cooling, the max temp running YouTube videos is about 62 C.  There is plenty of space on the back side for the SSD.

I have updated the model to use M3x8 (or longer) screws for assembly of the sides amd M2.5x8 (or longer) for securing the SBC (M3 screws may put too much stress on the SBC since the holes are 3.0 mm diameter).  Button head screws would look the best, but I used socket head since that is what I have.

I printed it in 3D-Fuel Refuel recycled PLA, so mine is just a random gray. No supports are required (PrusaSlicer 2.6 alpha complains that supports are required, but it printed ok without supports).

There are plenty of Orange Pi 5 cases, and of course Raspberry Pi 4 cases, but I wanted a case that provided better protection and better access to the ports and power switch. The case is still small enough to move easily, and only takes a 4 1/2 inch (120 mm) square space on my desk.  But its big enough that spilling a drink on the desk isn't going to ruin it, and the SBC is above the jumble of cables that seem to be everywhere.  There are enough vents all over that something placed on top shouldn't affect the cooling.  And our house cat has rubbed it's scent by head rubbing on it with no ill effects, which is a major design objective.

The main cables come out the back on the desktop, and I have channels for zip ties to help hold them in place.  In the photo I have the keyboard and mouse plugged in on the side because I use them on other SBC's.  Its a little hard to get to the zip ties, but opening up the two halves its workable.  I temporarily assembled the case with the cables with the right amount of bend, then marked the location on the cable where it exits the case with tape.  Then I opened the case, wrapped the inside of the cable with electrical tape so it didn't slip through the zip tie, and then zip tied the cable.

Inside the base of the front case, which is where the OPi is mounted, is extra space.  There is a vertical separator which has labels for the inside connections but can also be drilled for mounting PCB's if that is needed.

The case has labels for the connections.  While some are obvious, others, like the USB 2 and 3 ports, are going to be hard to keep track of as time goes by.  The large case has space for the labels for future me.

Many thanks to choovick who posted Orange Pi 5 3d model mock, which is the basis for this case.  Here is a link to his post:

I have included the Fusion 360 model in case anyone wants to remix this.  I made some minor improvements to the model based on what I learned doing the V2 version.
