I was making some candies and didn't want to shell out for an expensive mold I liked, so I made my own.

Each candy is 2ml at original scale. There are 105 of them. They're hexagonal gem shapes with alien faces on the top.

I printed this on a bambu X1-Carbon at .08mm layer height and just barely had enough detail for the alien face details. I'd imagine you could get a perfect mold with a resin printer. However, even without fine detail, the volume and general shape should be consistent.

How to use:

  1. Print the model
  2. Pour food-safe silicone into it and let it cure
  3. You now have a candy/gummy mold.

Pitfalls/Potential changes:

  • Alien faces are a small detail and may not show depending on your layer height
  • The resulting mold could be thinner, though it's not particularly “thick”
  • This model is slightly too large for the build plate of the MK3+. I'll have to make another version with slightly less candies.
